Continental Breakfast included in room rates. Plus a fully-equipped self-contained kitchenLabyrinth Gardens Guest House is situated on 1.5 acres of secluded gardens with our very own private entrance into Labyrinth Rocks Park.
Our convenient semi-rural setting is centrally located, only 5 minutes into Tākaka Village (15 minutes by bicycle on the new bicycle path) or 10 minutes to the beach. This spacious modern house has three large bedrooms, one with private ensuite. For a complete list of amenities, please visit our website.
Rooms can be booked individually, but we encourage small groups of up to six (runners, bicycling/tramping clubs, gay seniors, etc.) to book the entire house, so we can create a place for social gatherings and develop long-term relationships within the community.
Your hosts Ken and Steve are originally from Montana. Ken is the “Techie” and Steve is the “Garden Faerie”. We live on the property in the original cottage, whilst the guest house is enjoyed by guests only. We are very happy to answer questions and give advice about the many attractions in Golden Bay / Mohua.

Your own private entrance to a fairytale
You will be staying at one of Golden Bay’s most wondrous destinations, the Labyrinth Rocks Park. Over time, Nature has sculpted a fascinating maze of limestone karst formations that will keep you absorbed for hours. Exploring this amazing park is now one of the most popular Tākaka activities.
From your front door, you can access our private gated entrance to walk right into the Labyrinth. This peaceful sanctuary offers delightful surprises at every turn. It is suitable for children of all ages. Just look out for the dinosaurs!
