Homestay Oamaru has a warm, relaxed and friendly ambience.
It has a splendid location overlooking a steep bluff; there is ample off-street parking and the site is private and quiet. The Southern Walkway can be accessed from the end of the drive.
Sit back with a complimentary drink and enjoy sweeping views from the comfort of your reclining chair in the lounge, or take in the even more expansive panorama from the outside deck. Your room has en-suite facilities and very comfortable queen double beds, and is finished with a relaxing decor - just right for a peaceful night's sleep.
Your host, Doug, knows the area well and he can advise on local sight-seeing, walks and tours. A highlight might be the day tour through Dansey's Pass Gold country, looping through the Maniototo and back to the coast via the "Pig Root". The trip can be rounded off with an evening meal at Fleur's - probably New Zealand's best seafood restaurant - situated in the attractive port village of Moeraki.
